What payment methods do you accept?

How much does delivery cost?
Standard delivery is included in the price you see on the website – all prices on scotbarkuk.com are fully inclusive of VAT and standard UK delivery, so there are no surprises at checkout. Additional charges may apply for express, specialist or restricted-access deliveries.
How long does delivery take?
Orders are normally delivered within 3–5 working days from dispatch via the Palletline distribution network. We'll keep you informed and, where possible, provide tracking information so you know when to expect your order.
Where do you deliver?
We deliver across the whole of the UK from our Glasgow depot. Some remote postcodes, including parts of the Scottish Highlands and Islands, may take a little longer or require a small surcharge – we'll let you know before dispatch if that's the case.
When will my delivery arrive?
Deliveries are normally made Monday to Friday between 8am and 5pm. We can't usually guarantee a specific time slot, but the courier will do their best to provide an estimated window in advance.
How are my products delivered?
Bulk bags (1m³) and palletised bagged products are delivered using a tail-lift vehicle, which lowers the goods to ground level at the kerbside. For larger or restricted-access jobs we also offer Transit Tipper deliveries, and our Express Blower service can place bark precisely where you need it.
What surface do I need for delivery?
Because our tail-lift vehicles need a stable, level base to off-load safely, we ask that the drop-off point is a paved, level concrete or tarmac surface – usually a driveway or hard standing close to the kerb. Loose gravel, soft ground or steep gradients are not suitable for tail-lift drops.
Are there faster or specialist delivery options?
Yes. In addition to our standard 3–5 working day service, we offer Transit Tipper deliveries for restricted or express requirements and our unique Express Blower service for large-volume installations. These options are subject to availability and may carry an additional charge – please contact us for a quote.
What is the Express Blower service?
Our Express Blower service is a supply-and-install solution where the bark is blown directly into place through a specialist hose. It's ideal for large gardens, playgrounds, council and contract jobs, and gives a clean, even, professional finish without the labour of barrowing material from the kerb.
What size are your bulk bags and how much do they cover?
Our bulk bags hold 1m³ of product. As a rule of thumb, one bulk bag of bark will cover approximately 20m² at a recommended depth of 50mm (2 inches), which is the ideal depth for most decorative and mulching applications. Coarser products such as bark nuggets are best laid 75–100mm (3–4 inches) deep, which slightly reduces the coverage per bag.
How much bark or mulch do I need for my project?
Multiply the length by the width of your area in metres to get the square metre coverage, then choose a depth – 50mm for decorative bark and mulching, or up to 100mm for chunkier nuggets and weed suppression. Each 1m³ bulk bag covers around 20m² at 50mm. Our coverage chart on the website can help you double-check the volume you need before ordering.
What can I use bark, chippings and mulch for?
Our products are used across a wide range of garden, landscaping and commercial applications, including decorative borders and beds, weed suppression, moisture retention, pathways and walkways, planters and pots, safety surfacing for play areas, and ground cover for schools, nurseries and public spaces.
What is the difference between decorative -ornamental bark and play bark?
Decorative and ornamental barks and chippings are designed for borders, beds, pathways and general landscaping, with a focus on appearance, weed suppression and moisture retention. Play bark is specifically graded and tested to perform as a safety surface beneath play equipment – it is softer underfoot, free from sharp pieces and sized to cushion falls.
Is your play bark and playchip safety-certified?
Yes. Our Play Bark and play chip products are both tested to meet BS 7188 and BS EN 1177, the UK and European standards for impact-attenuating playground surfaces. This makes it suitable for schools, nurseries, public play parks and domestic play areas, provided it is installed at the correct depth.
How long will bark and mulch last in my garden?
Bark naturally breaks down over time as it conditions the soil, which is one of the benefits of using it as a mulch. We recommend topping up your bark every two to three years to maintain its appearance, weed-suppressing qualities and depth. Play bark in high-use areas may need refreshing more often to maintain its safety performance.
What should I do if my order is damaged, incorrect, or I need to cancel?
Please inspect your order on arrival and let us know straight away if anything is damaged, missing or incorrect so we can put it right quickly. If you need to cancel an order after it has been dispatched, a refund will be credited to you less any haulage charges already incurred. If the order has already been delivered, you'll be responsible for returning the goods to our Glasgow depot.
