Terms & Conditions
In these conditions of sale:
The company means Scotbark.
The customer means any person contracting with the company for the supply of products or services.
Delivery means delivery by the company or any haulier employed by the company, directly or indirectly.
These conditions may only be modified by a variation in writing signed on behalf of the company by a partner.
Submission of an order online will be taken as agreement to these conditions of sale.
2. Supply of Products
Products are sold under the express understanding that:
The customer and the company are contracting in the course of their respective business and, except as stated in writing by the company, no condition or warranty is given or implied by law, custom, usage or otherwise as to the quality or fitness for any purpose of the goods sold by the company.
The customer fully understands that turf is a growing crop and is therefore an ever changing product. The customer fully understands that turf is a perishable product, which must be properly laid on properly prepared topsoil.
The customer understands that once delivered, turf must be rolled out and laid within 2 hours and must be watered twice a day, morning and evening, until the turf has rooted down and is able to source its own moisture. Thereafter, the lawn should be watered when conditions require.
The customer understands that bark is measured when packed and that, due to the nature of the product, a degree of settlement will occur.
If the customer finds a defect with their purchased product(s) then this must be reported immediately, within 48 hours of collection or delivery. The product(s) must be returned to the company within 5 working days of the complaint being logged. A refund will be made for the original purchase price once the product has been examined.
All prices quoted by the company, for the sale of products online, include the cost of Standard Delivery to the postcode entered by the customer.
Customers are required to pay by credit or debit card, or via Pay Pal, at the time of ordering.
All items, however delivered, shall be at the customers risk from the time of collection, if so collected, or from the time of delivery. After such time the company shall be under no liability for loss, damage or deterioration of items from whatever cause arising.
All prices on the Scotbark website are fully inclusive of VAT and Standard Delivery.
Your order will get to you, from our depot, via the Palletline Distribution Network, and will normally be with you within 3-5 working days.** PLEASE NOTE THAT DURING THIS LOCKDOWN PERIOD OUR DELIVERY TIMES HAVE BEEN EXTENDED TO 7-10 DAYS **
Deliveries are normally made Monday-Friday between 8am and 5pm. Additional delivery options may be available at an added cost but are all subject to availability.

Deliveries are made using a tail lift delivery system (for bulk and small bags), which requires a paved, level, concrete or tarmac service. It is the responsibility of the customer to notify us of any site conditions prior to delivery. Vehicle access consideration is also the responsibility of the customer and any additional haulage charges resulting from the need to re-deliver will be payable by the customer prior to re-delivery.
The customer, or a person appointed by the customer, should be at the delivery point to accept the delivery. It is recommended that an able bodied person be at home to receive deliveries and to assist with offload if necessary. If this is not possible, the point of delivery should be clearly marked. If the point is deemed unsuitable and there is no-one available on site, delivery will be made to the nearest suitable point.
The customer understands that, where able to, the delivery driver will place products on the customer’s driveway and therefore agrees that their driveway is capable of withstanding the weight of a small forklift truck. The customer agrees, if not, to accept responsibility to provide a suitable area, free from access restrictions, for the delivery to be left.
The customer understands that the company can only guarantee a kerbside delivery and is therefore happy for goods to be left on the kerbside should the driver encounter any problems offloading onto a driveway or other specified area. The customer understands that kerbside deliveries are made using a manually manoeuvred pump truck and that it is not possible to leave goods upon uneven surfaces such as gravel, grass or slopes. It is the customer’s responsibility, in some areas of the UK, to obtain a permit from their local council in order to have bulk bags left on the kerbside.
The company will make every effort to deliver ordered products within the stated timescale. However, if for any reason the company is unable to deliver within this timescale, then no liability will fall to the company, in damages or otherwise.
The company will not, either, accept any liability for damages to property caused during delivery.
Delivery by the company will be conditional upon access where suitable roads, free from encumbrances, are available to the company’s delivery vehicles in order to reach the point of delivery.
In cases that delivery, in the opinion of the company, is not possible, the company reserves the right to cancel or hold the order.
Should you report a defect in terms of these conditions, and return the product(s) to the company within the required timescale, we will provide you with a full refund. Return costs will be at the purchaser’s expense.
4. Company Premises
The customer will at all times be responsible for the security and insurance of products after the delivery has been made.
The customer will comply with all requirements of Health & Safety Legislation.
Delivery will be made on a kerbside delivery basis. It will be the customer’s responsibility to move the products from the place of delivery to the area of laying. Where possible we will deliver onto the customer’s property, i.e. driveway.
The company accepts no responsibility for injury or damage caused to persons or equipment whilst on company premises.
If you place an order online and then cancel the order before your products have been dispatched a full refund will be credited to your account.
If you cancel an order after your products have been dispatched a refund will be credited to your account less incurred haulage charges per tonne bag or pallet.
If you cancel an order after the delivery has been made it will be your responsibility to return the goods to Scotbark’s Glasgow Depot.
6. Scotbark and Customer Agreement
I, the customer, agree that I have read and fully understand all of the terms and conditions above. I understand that once I place an order I will be liable for any delivery charges incurred if I then cancel the order, as well as any costs for redelivery of the goods to Scotbark’s Glasgow Depot.
I have viewed the images of the products I have ordered and understand the quantity that will be delivered.
I understand that all of the products that Scotbark supplies are naturally occurring products and may have slight variations in colour, size and content. I understand that individual rocks, stones and cobbles may be broken or misshaped and that the sizes of the specified products are approximate and can vary.
I understand that product coverage can be affected by a number of factors, including the depth of coverage required and stone size, and that any product coverage information provided by Scotbark is approximated and given as guidance only.
I understand that my delivery will be made by way of a 7.5 tonne vehicle or larger, to my kerbside or, where access allows, my driveway, and understand that it is up to me to transport goods thereafter. I confirm that there is enough room for access. I understand that if there is any possibility of there not being access (in the delivery driver’s view) that I may be liable for a redelivery charge.
I understand that most deliveries are stacked on pallets and that it is my responsibility to dispose of the pallet(s) safely.
I understand that tonne bags are non-returnable and, for health and safety reasons, can only be used once.
I acknowledge that if my delivery does not arrive on time that I have no claim against Scotbark.
These conditions and any contract or variation are governed by law. Any disputes arising from these conditions or any contract or variation entered into by the company with the customer, which cannot be settled in the ordinary course of business, shall be referred to a single arbiter in accordance with the arbitration (Scotland) Act 1894, or any modification thereof for the time being in force.
